Guangdong 21st Century Maritime Silk Road International Expo (short for “MSRE”), founded in 2014, has been removed from Dongguan to Guangzhou since 2019. With years of cultivation and growth, MSRE has gradually developed into an exhibition platform with strong influence in countries and regions along the Belt and Road.

Part 2 Overview of MSRE 2023
Based on the new development stage, MSRE will fully, accurately and comprehensively apply the new development philosophy, create a new development dynamic and open up to the outside world at a higher level. With the advantages of scientific and technological innovation in Guangdong-Hongkong-Macao Greater Bay Area, a wide range of industrial supply chains and a high degree of openness to the outside world and Guangdong’s overall competitive advantage of its strong industry, MSRE will promote greater domestic circulation and better connect it with the international one. MSRE will also focus on promoting infrastructure connectivity, deepening pragmatic cooperation in economy, trade and investment, and building bridges for mutual learning and appreciation of civilizations, thereby promoting larger scope, wider areas, and deeper level cooperation with countries and regions along the Belt and Road, and building a high-level platform for cooperation in opening-up.

Comprehensive exhibition areas
1. International Cooperation and Exchange Area: Mainly displaying the cultural custom, tourism resources, traditional arts and crafts and etc of countries and regions along the Belt and Road. At the same time, member countries of RCEP and CPTPP will be invited to demonstrate their comprehensive strength.
2. International High-quality Commodity Area: Mainly displaying the dominant industries, high-quality enterprises and special commodities from countries and regions along the Belt and Road, while the highlights will be representative enterprises and products recommended by embassies and consulates, commerce of chambers, business associations and key enterprises.
3. Foreign Trade Base Area: Mainly displaying the comprehensive strength of China, especially the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, expanding international trade channels for enterprises in foreign trade bases and industrial cluster districts, and focusing on foreign trade export products such as clothing, bags and shoes, smart household products, automobile and motorcycle accessories.

Digital Silk Road (Cross-border E-Commerce) Area: Mainly displaying cross-border e-commerce platforms, import and export trade companies and source factories , showcasing commodities such as beauty and daily chemical products, household and furnishing products, maternal, infant and child products, and daily necessities from various countries and regions, as well as related supporting services of financial payment, overseas location and logistics and supply chain; and will demonstrate new trends of international digital trade, cross-border e-commerce and comprehensive international trade services, as well as new forms of retail e-commerce such as social e-commerce and live streaming e-commerce.
